Player Info & Rope Request
Click on another player on screen to open their player info menu and send a rope attach request. This is the main co-op interaction mechanic — it lets you connect with teammates for shared climbing.
Rope Request Workflow
| Step | Action | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Spot a player on screen | Confirm they are within interaction range |
| 2 | Click on their character | Opens the player info menu |
| 3 | Select “Rope Attach Request” from the menu | Sends the request to that player |
| 4 | Wait for acceptance | The target player must accept for the rope to attach |
| 5 | Rope connected | You are now tethered for co-op climbing |
What The Menu Shows
When you click on another player, the info menu displays:
- The player’s name or display tag.
- Their current status (if visible in the build).
- The Rope Attach Request option.
When It Works
- The target player must be visible on screen and within interaction range.
- The menu appears after clicking the player character directly — not the ground or objects near them.
- The rope request is a co-op action — the target player must accept for the rope to attach.
Hard Info
- PC only (mouse click required). Console does not have an equivalent input for player targeting.
- The range for player click detection is limited to what is visible on screen. If a player is far away, zoom in or move closer.
- Only one rope request can be active at a time per player.
Practical Tips
- Before requesting: Make sure the target player is not in the middle of a difficult climb. They may want to reach a stable spot before accepting.
- Communication helps: Use voice or text chat to coordinate rope requests. Let your teammate know you are about to send one.
- Camera position matters: If clicking a player does nothing, adjust your camera so the player is centered on screen, then try again.
- After attaching: Stay aware of your teammate’s position. Rope tension can pull both players if one falls.
- Camps are good spots: Use camp areas to coordinate rope teams before heading onto ridges or steep sections.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Clicking a player does nothing | Player is out of range or not directly clicked | Move closer and click the character model directly |
| Rope request menu does not show | Player is too far or the menu is not triggered | Adjust camera so the player is centered on screen |
| Request sent but no response | Target player may not have noticed | Ask them via chat to check for the request |
| On console — cannot click | Console does not support mouse cursor | This is expected — console has no click-to-interact control |
| Cannot click on a player near an object | Object may be blocking the click target | Reposition your view so the player is clearly visible |
Notes
- Console equivalent for player targeting and rope request is not available.
- The rope system is a core co-op mechanic — use it when tackling steep sections or dangerous ridges together.
